An Introduction to Trinity Bible Church
Independent, non-denominational, Protestant
Trinity
It is our desire to know and honor God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God is the almighty Creator, the eternal, unchanging sovereign ruler over all things. He is the Jehovah of the Hebrew people with whom He established an everlasting covenant. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ as Israel’s Messiah to “save His people from their sins” and to establish the New Covenant. God, in His grace has opened the redemptive benefits of Christ’s mediatorial death to the peoples of all nations. In His sovereign grace God is saving people from sin and all its miserable consequences through the universal proclamation of the Gospel message. It is the Holy Spirit who works in the heart and mind to convict of sin and to enlighten regarding the truth of God’s Word. To all those who acknowledge, by faith, Jesus as their own Savior, God grants the permanent indwelling gift of His Holy Spirit. Through the gift of the Holy Spirit we are born again and are enabled to grow in grace as the children of God.
Bible
The Holy Scriptures reveal God: His nature, characteristics, and will for humanity. In our world, where philosophies of life constantly change with unsettling frequency, the timeless truth of the Word of God is the firm foundation for our faith. Our various church services, first and foremost, are dedicated to Bible teaching. We endeavor to put the Word of God in the hands, heads and hearts of all who come because it is God’s Word alone that has power to save a soul and guide the believer in righteousness.
Church
Until Jesus Christ returns a second time to establish His earthly kingdom, it is God’s will that His people gather together for worship and instruction in local assemblies. New Testament (New Covenant) local churches consisted of Jew and gentile called by God and united by faith in Jesus Christ. These churches were independent from any outside institutional control. Their services were characterized by a reverent simplicity and an atmosphere of true biblical love. This is the kind of church we want to be at Trinity Bible Church.
Church Leadership
Elders
Based on the teaching of the New Testament our church is organized to be led by its own Elders who act as the spiritual overseers of the church body. One of the Elders is designated as the Pastor of the assembly.
Pastor
Our Pastor is Rev. Dana C. Johnson who has been serving since 1999. Before that, Pastor Johnson served as a missionary for ten years in the Hiroshima area of western Japan. He now lives with his wife and five children in Ipswich.
